How far you guys think this will go? And how often do you think new seasons will be releasing?
the first episode of the live action series was great but the second one was terrible
why do they portray garp as super evil?
To fool the watcher later, obviously lol
People say that about him now too, some say he's worse post time skip.
It's just a bit of stoicism imo
Nah even before timeskip, after spending time with the crew he really softens up and becomes a lot goofier

I need an alabasta season
I've never watched One Piece so this live action version is my introduction to the story. I've wanted to pick up the anime but I've always been turned off by how many f***ing episodes there are lol. I'm on episode 4 and so far I'm messing with it. It is definitely goofy and campy lol (about what I'd expect from live action anime) also some awkward line delivery from Luffy's actor but I'm enjoying it so far. You can tell there's a lot of heart behind the show
why the trap drums and hi hats come in for arlong
they absolutely did not need to draw parallels between the fishmen and black people. it just didn't need to happen
like when arlong was like "you only like us when we serve you food or clean your house" or some s***
I promise you we didn't need this.
Gave up around episode 340or something this live action is lit tho
Fight your way through Thriller Bark if you don't really like it. The following arcs

Keep watching the next 4 arcs are top tier and arguably the best in the series
just finished syrup village, really not a fan of the way this arc was handled. it sucks to see usopp's crew was cut but it's understandable. i'm also fine with the arc mainly taking place inside the mansion, i think that's a fun set up. my main problem was i felt like the arc was all over the place tonally. at some points it wanted to be tim burton-esque and extra quirky and weird but then at other points it wanted to be more horror or thriller themed and it just never committed enough to either. so both styles ended up feeling pretty half baked. luffy's fight with kuro was also very disappointing
zoro's flashback fell completely flat imo. i'm not sure why they decided to cut out how kuina died. instead they literally just cut to a new scene and go "yeah she's dead now" and moved on. the acting during the flashback was also pretty poor but they're young actors so it's understandable.
usopp seems fine, i guess. he's a pretty difficult character to bring into live action because his reactions are so over the top and outrageous and i obviously wasn't expecting that but i'm not sure exactly what i was expecting either. i'm indifferent to his portrayal so far. also not a fan of the kiss at the end at all. it's not a major problem but that definitely feels like a netflix thing and it didn't get the reaction out of me that i think they were hoping for
I don't know how hot of a take this is but I've found Zoros sword fights in post timeskip to be extremely boring. It just feels like hes been using the same three face triple sword demon-thing for AGES, and you can only make so many air-slicing techniques before they all start meshing together. His moveset just isn't as exciting as Luffy or Franky or even Namis arsenals.
Theres that and I always found his three sword style to be kind of dumb but it was MUCH more tolerable in part 1. Making him a brute strength fighter to compete with Luffy was a mistake tbh...
Also dudes I'm on chapter 1060. I usually buy them by the volume but I couldn't control myself from this. This suspense of whatever the f*** is going on is reaching AoT levels and I literally don't know how to act

The current stretch of chapters are so good you’re in for a treat

those parallels are in the anime too probably not as heavy handed though
Koby’s actor is transgender; nothing particularly noteworthy but I just felt they (he) looked feminine
Works for the purposes of this role though. I think it’s a fairly accurate depiction
