How I see the show going if it gets renewed
i think we'll at least get a second season that goes through alabasta but man, i just don't see how this could continue much further past that. the story, islands and characters get to a point where they'd either need to make significant changes to make it possible to film or have their budget massively increased cause the cgi needs are gonna be intense. the budget is already $17 mil per episode and there are still moments where it looks kinda cheap, so i don't see how netflix could justify that multiple times over per episode unless this is just surpassing their expectations numbers wise in a way they couldn't have predicted
I'd like to apologize, I wasn't familiar with her game. Just got to the Sulong part
wouldve been a cool addition to the ship and to fights imo
already meshed with the crew too
Live action is good but honestly doesn’t feel like one piece really
I can agree it’s good but it’s really it’s own thing as long as it gets people into the manga/anime it does it’s job
It’s crazy because I f***ing loved the world of Skypeia when I first saw it. Fascinated by a world in the clouds. We need Skypeia for 1) what you said bout the going merry
And 2) if not for anything but Gold Roger’s writing on the bell
Jaya + Skypeia sooooooo good
Can't tell you how many times I've run the scene of the crew riding the Knock Up Stream
Thought I was gonna hate this live action show due to Netflix's track record with death note and cowboy bebop but this show is surprisingly good.
really fun. I'm glad this netflix show is more of its own thing to differanate it from the anime and manga,
It felt like someone mashed up Guardians Of The Galaxy, Kung Fu Hustle, Pirates of The Caribbean, Scott Pilgrim and Speed Racer into a blender in a good way.
The cast also did their thing, thought the kid who played Luffy would be really annoying but he killed it. Hopefully there's more seasons so it could be even better.
If the netflix show gets more seasons its gonna look weird when it starts to show. Most of them about to push 30 too except Inaki (Luffy). I think the chick who plays Nami (Emily) Just turned 30.

BRO!!! like come on now! Didn’t even think of Jaya. That and the scenes with Blackbeard cannot be skipped at all if this gets renewed
Live action too campy man
Couldn’t make it past alvidas intro. the acting & close ups are so bad
Unrelated but can't believe they couldn't make death note work the premise is so simple and it doesn't require much effects and it's not campy or silly like one piece or dragon ball and its not dumb expensive to make and they still fumbled.

The CGI isn't the expensive part. It's the set construction and filming location really.

Crazy how they built real sets instead of having it be in a warehouse with green dots in the backgrounds. Goes to show how these marvel movies and star wars movies look fake as hell.

Yea the sets are legit insane

I know if they get more seasons the sets will have to look less extravagant and maybe more on Soundstages to save money but they really did their thing with the sets.
That was one of the wildest sequences i have ever seen . Like even crazier than zoro and king

If they greenlight a new season it's because season 1 was super successful. They wouldn't downscale in that case lol, they'd get more budget allocated.

True, this is netflix's most expensive show of all time if this is a mega hit they could probably spend a big bag to make the show look better. Its just netflix is really impatient with shows if they arent a mega hit they pull the plug quick. if they get more seasons the main thing I'm worried about is the cast aging they are all in their late 20s except Luffy and I think the girl who plays Nami just turned 30.

Yea there are definitely some valid concerns (age isn't that big a deal, can always get around stuff like this tbh). Season 1 looks like it was super successful so I'd imagine we're getting season 2 for sure (though who knows with the strike going on)

if that's the case i still think the budget will reach a point where it just doesn't make sense for netflix. at $17 million per episode, one piece is already up to $136 million for only 8 episodes and things certainly aren't gonna get cheaper as the world expands. plus with the way netflix was already bleeding money before this and searching for any possible way to increase profits, it's tough to see how much of future this can actually have
