Early anime i may agree, but this Is a 1000+ ep anime, the bad episodes outweigh the good ones. Especially the animation from sabaody to whole cake is garbage

I really do think latest One Piece is „held back“ (cause its gigantic but still could be bigger and better) because of A) the manga pacing B) the anime pacing
How Oda and Toei got us watching a 50 episode or 33 chapter Doflamingo Luffy fight speaks volumes on its story

One Piece anime has been airing since 1999, so I really wouldn't suggest waiting for a remake that will also take years of your life to reach the 1000 episode point
The thing is, One Piece doesn't NEED to be 1000 episodes. It's only that long due to elongating scenes and bad pacing.
With proper pacing the story this far could likely be adapted with like 400-500 episodes. Which I imagine is the entire goal of the remake.

Making the series with better animation and pacingI mean the manga still has more to come even with better pacing cutting down episodes it's still a long way off from ever catching up. Keep in mind WIT works on more than just one piece, you're likely getting one 24 episode season every other year at best and that's wishful thinking.
