I circled back on this point because something didn't sit right with me

We know Bon Clay's fruit is one where if you touch the person you can turn into them. Catarina's fruit doing literally the same thing (touch them and you turn into them) just seems weird to me.

So I was thinking, what if Catarina's is an upgrade on Bon Clay's where you can transform into someone else just as long as you've seen them. But by touching them you're granted their abilities as well when you turn into them?

This is good but even with the ability to impersonate Saturn and BB crew's elite infiltration ability, I think there are multiple potential failure points. 1) Yeah, the BB pirates are extremely knowledgeable but no way they know as much as the Gorosei and considering we're in the end game I'm sure there are plenty of conversations and interactions that the Gorosei are having among themselves, Imu, the marines, the holy knights and other celestial dragons etc that would expose Devon QUICK. 2) Devon touched Saturn in his hybrid form - can she also impersonate his man & beast forms? She'll have to be able to take on his man/regular form because that's how the Gorosei usually present themselves...and if she can do that wouldn't that imply that her devil fruit allows her to take on the powers of people she's copying...that would be INSANE

Also Saturn dying at Egghead makes sense considering he's set on eliminating Egghead and everything on it and that's not just a loose end you can have as the Straw Hats cause he'll just lock in on you and everyone else there until everyone's extinguished but if he dies wouldn't the WG/Imu know immediately without giving Devon a chance to swap in considering that she's already rushing off the island with Auger. So in the instance of Saturn dying she'd be exposed immediately if she tied to pull up on the Gorosei

Working through all of this leads me to believe that there's a chance that Devon's fruit might be BROKEN and taking on Saturn's appearance is big for the BB pirates because it'll allow her to take on all of his knowledge and his abilities

Pudding's devil fruit. Stay with me here, but is it possible that when transformed into Saturn, Pudding would be able to extract SATURN's memories instead of Devon's? It's a stretch but that might be a way to avoid an easy slip up in conversation

Feel like I'm missing simple with what you're saying so my bad if I am but if Devon can access all of Saturn's knowledge and memories when she takes his form, wouldn't she be good to go? BB pirates have been scheming for too long for a slip up of her pulling from her memories as Saturn.

My whole point with the memory/knowledge stuff is that even if Devon was set up perfectly to slide into Saturn's spot she'd get sunk ASAP unless her fruit also allows her access to the knowledge and memories of who she's imitating. And between what you said about Bon Clay and the fact that we don't know everything about Devon's devil fruit on top of everything else I said, I think there's a good chance of that

Wouldn't surprise me and I had a feeling it might be something like that. BB's crew have been chasing strength. Also Saturn didn't or couldn't do that weird lockdown thing to that he did to the SH crew. BB crew might actually end up sending the SH crew packing at some point. While they are chasing DF powers the SH Crew will need to level up in terms of Haki. Crazy DFs vs crazy Haki crew fight lol - I do wonder if Elbaf will be a training arc of sorts for the crew as well.

I liked the theory that Saturn dies and Garling gets called up to become a Gorosei and Shanks' brother then becomes head of the Holy Knights. Probably a bit too Shanks wank based though.

Saturn dying and that being confirmed by any marine, I guess Kizaru in this case kinda makes Devon's power useless unless BB is bold enough to send her as a fill in. BB's plans to this point have all been calculated and the man has progressed TREMENDOUSLY all in this one arc at that. Shanks warned the Gorosei about BB presumably. BB has hoed the marines and WG before from a plot point it'd be extremely dumb for them to ever trust that man.

I don't think they need to infiltrate the heart of the holy lands with Saturn's appearance, it'd come in handy anywhere else as well. If Saturn does die I think the Gorosei would just cover it up or say he simply died of old age or is retiring. Though honestly only thing that matters is whatever spin Morgans puts on this.

Which makes me feel that Devon having touched Saturn will be miniscule in the grand scheme of things. I think that Devon will go on to touch Luffy at some point and she will be that destroys fishman island as Luffy. During what I would imagine to be the search for taking Poseidon.
