I cheated by just starting in Wano with my GF

I consumed enough One Piece memes and watched the live-action show to be on-board with the story.

One Piece anime already like a soap opera that you can jump in at any time. I was fine because of how many flashbacks they cut in.

Considering that the world building is one of if not the biggest highlight of the story, this one of the worst ways I've ever heard of anyone taking in OP

I typed up 5 paragraphs about how I enjoy the writing being simple and accessible, the show' length allows it to have some much lore in the show, and the characters are what I care more about.

It all got deleted, and realized I practically don't have the time and effort to go back to the beginning of One Piece in my schedule atm

I still enjoy the show though

Character development and world building are both very integral to how Oda writes one piece and u don't have full context of either. One arc isn't going to capture that in full scope even with flashbacks. U need to witness the setup

I hear what you’re saying but this isn’t rly gonna work with one piece. There’s so much missing context and the payoffs in Wano are way beyond the scope of the Wano arc alone.

Wouldn't say it's the best way to go about it with one piece. Would be like hopping straight to the 3rd lord of the rings movie or 4th harry potter book and saying "I seen the memes I'm good"

There's a lot of moments and development that you won't really be able to appreciate and certainly things you'll have no knowledge of
