Really helped shift the tone and make Misery kind of scary

Kuzan sequence was an instant classic and fan favorite too smfh

It’s especially sad because he wanted #1066 to serve as a statement to the anime industry’s long held belief that western animators can’t work on anime style productions. He brought in many Western animators, and despite having difficulty understanding the production process, they managed to succeed. That’s why his favorite cut of the episode is Big Mom’s incredible lip sync. That was created by a Western animator with a background in Disney films, who had not previously worked on anime.

i rewatched it recently and honestly i didnt drag as much as i remember watching it weekly. scenes are still stretched here and there (moreso during the raid) but its still pretty good

but reading the manga is always good

I just haven't read the manga in years

i still recommend reading the Wano arc but the anime definitely has scenes beyond just the fights that are worth watching with the overall upgrade in animation quality/direction

Honestly prefer anime Wano to manga Wano

megumi ishitani is directing a new special called one piece fan letter, that's going to air october 20th. it's based on the novel called straw hat stories, which seems to be about how the straw hats have inspired random people around the world of one piece

This could really be the last "adventure arc" where the strawhats just visit an island, explore and get involved with the drama.
