I hear what people are saying about One Piece/Naruto considering the last chapter but I'd honestly just wait it and see. I see the comparisons but I don't think the story is lending itself to some kind of 1:1 copy of the stories ending or something.

reading one piece for the first time ever. on vol 3 and it’s just so much fun man.

Late stage nruto was one of the worst things i had to witness as a weekly reader. This feels way more thought through already and last few chapters have been peak and made me just möre excited for the final part of the story

The setup looks the same but the outcome remains to be seen. Davy Jones and Joyboy and their descendants contrasting each other is just like Indra and Asura. Add Imu into it and it’s hard to argue it doesn’t at the very least appear the same. I agree that it is more thought out but this recent flashback has me questioning Oda’s story decisions.

Idk that’s a pretty lazy comparison lol Indra and asura are v different from Blackbeard and luffy. Both sets have contrast between the pairings (v different dynamic between the contrasts mind you) but that’s about as much commonality as I see

It really isn’t when you understand that the conflict between Indra and Asura was how to wield their powers. One sought to rule as a union and the other solitary. You’re telling me that’s not apt when discussing Davy Jones the **king** of the world and Joyboy the **liberator**

I also wonder if by "mass" Roger is referring to what Vegapunk theorised on the soul weighing 21 grams. Quite literally they had to sacrifice/put some of their soul into their attacks to overcome Imu-enhanced Rocks.

The comparisons to naruto cause of imu is overblown. The equivalent in one piece is like if imu was killed and absorbed by blackbeard then he magically taken over by davy jones soul and he reincarnates and he becomes the final villian in the last 20 chapters

People always struggle with this concept lool. He can't fight people before his time
