Oda gotta explain this, death returns them to life ?? We saw Rocks kill plenty of mind controlled people on the island and they did not return to life lmao. Nor was it implied that the same occurred with Rocks or Harald

Harald had a covenant so that might be different. But with this I am about 1000% convinced that Rocks is still alive.
I'm not gonna lie though, I'm not feeling this lol

It was a bit of an in-between/average chapter
Although given the amount of peak we've been receiving I'm cool with it
Things still happened, progress was made
I wish Usopp could've been there to see Dorry & Brogy's resolve & decision to mutually kill each other rather than get used/sacrifice their honour. It could have been a big motivator for him. Even if it didn't actually amount to much. I was shocked reading those panels of them dying until they weren't actually dead
Franky power up is nice to see, even though it was out of the blue. We expected something/some upgrades to come from him being around Vegapunk though so I'm cool with it
I wish Saul/Blackbeard's OG dub actor was still alive, it was gonna be so special hearing his Saul dub voice again.
I can’t believe Zoro is not the main character in this universe
Homie exude aura, not conqueror haki i swear 😭😭😭
Imu needs to kill off a straw hat to ever get any respect from me again, I got more respect for Dragon than Imu. The marines you command from the shadows can't do s\*\*\*. The niggas you personally hire can't do s\*\*\*. The niggas in your starting 5 can't do s\*\*\*. You possess niggas and still can't do s\*\*\*. Shamrock is his only hope, cuz I don't expect Imu to do s\*\*\* with possessed Gunko. He/She/It over here struggling with BROOKE while his lackeys get popped.
Elbalf backstories were 10/10
What has actually been going on in the present though is kinda mid with the only saving grace being one character fr. It has the opposite issue Egghead had
Actually Egghead was better as a whole, but what Egghead provided is what is missing right now

Crasy take
Easily my favorite arc since Whole Cake. It recaptures the adventurous spirit which attracted me to the series initially. It’s able to balance that with significant lore and character work. Brook seemingly getting any development at all is a cherry on top.

Wano is the best arc objectively
Wano is the best arc objectively
It’s one of my least favorites. Just a complete mess. Some of the highest highs, but plenty of lows and structural problems. There’s no objectivity in art.

What about it felt messy? I think it was one of the most structured arcs tbh
Wano was basically the culmination of the entire series to this point and it delivered imo
Egghead imo is a bad arc

I feel like the problems are pretty self evident. It’s only more “structured”, in that it announces to you that it’s divided into 3 acts. These acts are totally disjointed. All of them have their own little mini arcs competing for attention. There’s hundreds of characters to juggle, and like in Dressrossa, Oda really struggles with this. Not to mention how much contrivance there is. Think of Big Mom’s amnesia for example. Even great moments like Luffy’s initial awakening of Gear 5, come with the fact that it’s a totally unwarranted retcon. None of the foreshadowing anyone can point to ever suggests Luffy ate some mythical god fruit. It would have felt more natural had the Gum Gum simply evolved into Nika through Luffy’s inherited will and spirit. A lot of the appeal of the character and his power set, was that he was an underdog with seemingly silly abilities, who had to preserver through creativity, determination, and camaraderie. Also Kaido is a shockingly underdeveloped villain for how much build up and eventual time Luffy spends fighting him. Then when it comes to Yamato, they’re one of the most awkwardly written major characters Oda has ever introduced. The rest of the Straw Hats get minuscule development or time to shine, and Zoro especially is criminally underutilized. Still, it has plenty of moments that when stacked on top of each other, I really love, but it’s weighed down by how they’re all pieced together.

i agree ngl… which makes me think he is not Endgame

this i think is a strength of wano tbh. it feels very dynamic with the many countervailing plotlines, makes it more exciting and interesting
-Even great moments like Luffy’s initial awakening of Gear 5, come with the fact that it’s a totally unwarranted retcon.
im confused i dont see this at all. how was gear 5 a retcon? you think the nika stuff was made on the spot? it fits perfectly into the narrative and seems like the core story of one piece
-Then when it comes to Yamato, they’re one of the most awkwardly written major characters Oda has ever introduced.
Yamato is fire hold this L
this doesn't deserve a reply. youre smoking crack

How? He’s been running the world for about 1000 years tho? Got rid of Rocks, no one has been able to defeat him?

Elbaph been insane lmao. Oda just has an insane pen at this point. Loki alone is better than egghead

Their is literally foreshadowing with luffys fruit tho
Also camaraderie plays a huge part with Luffy imprisoned and the samurai’s. Did you just skip that? And silly abilities ? Gear 5 is the silliest s*** ever
And he’s an absolute underdog in Wano. Kaido one shots him early on and it takes a group effort to bring him down. Obv he had Big Moms help but a 5 on 2 with the best of the worst gen consisting of the future PK cmon
