ok Hayabusa
its a good game what can i say
No bars? Nigga listen to the album again, he's rapping rapping on multiple songs. Especially on side A. Also, how can you not see the link between familial trauama and how people act out to deal with it as a result of that? Not justifying him cheating but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that connection. Besides that, there's various studies that show the residual impact of slavery on black people. And brother, if you can't inerpret the crown as being clearly satirical, then i can't help you
Post examples of bars. I'm talking specifically wordplay, s*** for the listener to grasp. "i flip like exclamation points", "9s showing like they in their second trimester" type lines
That's more excuses and pointing the finger bullshit If you cheat, you cheated because you wanted to f*** other women. Own up to it. Familial trauma was not on his mind while he was f***ing those women, be fr.
And it's the same thing with him being proclaimed as the savior of rap, he doesn't acknowledge how his own actions resulted in that. "Will you let hip-hop die on the day my debut album drops?", "2pac came to me in a dream" and now he's acting like he's the victim and people just placed this role on him
The messaging is flawed, it's not clear that the crown is satirical. Because he's rejecting this savior role on the album, he could just continue to do that by NOT wearing a crown meant to imitate Jesus I think Kendrick expected more people to care about his cheating and cancel culture bars, but people have their own s*** to deal with. So a lot of the message just falls flat
Can you guys talk about why you didnt like that album, really interested to know
Beats is ass
Kendrick hasn't evolved in any way he actually went backwards lyrically and creatively imo
90s rappers did what he's trying to do 10x better
Respect to the legends Nas and Lupe but the production/music on those isn’t up to par. There’s not nearly as much meat on the bone as far as musical layers, album structure, etc
Similar respect to all the underground artists with cool little projects over loops
I know people say Morale isn’t replayable because of We Cry Together and the f word song but I find it way more interesting to go back to than the Nas or Lupe projects, which are bland musically and don’t feel nearly as fleshed out, not as much to chew on
DMIZ sounds like it was made in 3 days. Kings Disease is just a bunch of songs. You can tell every detail of Morale was labored over and thought out and the music and production was worked on more than just “ok here’s a beat, rap on it” repeat
I’d argue the musicality on those albums were great and enticing enough to engage the listener, especially DMIZ’s song structure and instrumentals. I’m with you on Mr Morale having more variety, but the production wasn’t up to par compared to his previous efforts and didn’t rock with some of the beats.
To each their own

The beat on Precious Things is a lot weaker than anything on Morale, that’s just facts lol. S***s barely music
If Morale production isn’t up to par with Kendrick’s previous, it still clears most of Lupe and Nas catalog lol
Auntie Diaries is very enjoyable music, probably the best beat to come out in the last 5 years
The messaging is messy but that just makes it feel real and true to today tbh, it’s messy topics
We Cry Together is trash but the others have good music underneath the heavy content
Also who listens to Kendrick for bars, that’s never been his thing. This album is arguably even more insightful than 444 though as far as the topics
"Bars has never been Kendrick's thing" bro, he's a f***ing rapper. I don't think it's too much to ask for a fundamental aspect of rap from a rapper
Sherane probably has more examples of bars than the entirety of Mr Morale. It's a fair critique of the album

Kendrick don’t have bars on any of that s*** lol he never had bars. He’s a story rapper
Wtf are the bars on sherane
It’s Kendrick’s Yeezus. In the sense that it’s always gonna be an outlier in Kendrick’s discography compared to GKMC or TPAB. But the ones who love it, really do love it
I’m already seeing it get more appreciated then it was and it hasn’t even been a year yet
Not enough people talk about how everytime Sam Dew opens his mouth it sounds like heaven’s gates are opening
i really don't like his parts, as opposed to Bekon's contributions to DAMN

I'm not talking the IG thot posting "quotables" as captions definition of bars, I mean it in the actual sense. Thanksgiving has plenty
Kendrick Lamar, no Audemar on my wrist
Just arthritis from holding it down b****
My drive is not to be chauffeured
I've done situated myself, I ain't lying
Be sure to be friend cause my foes die five times
@2words Sherane has some wordplay littered throughout
Ass came with a hump from the jump she was a camel
I want to ride like Arabians
I was in heat like a cactus, my tactics of being thirsty
At least I hope cause my pockets broke as a promise man
I had a fifth in the trunk like Curtis Jackson for ransom
I'm hoping to get her loose like an Uncle Luke Anthem
not that much but i will in the future , album is not yet sit with me , but it will , is is interesting album.
F*** no but that nigga does have the highest grossing hip hop tour so it's hard to s*** on him. He got a strong fanbase whether we like the music or not
It's frustrating because Kendrick would have way more replay value today if he made catchier songs with sweet hooks ex: (DAMN.) He is capable of doing that but it seems like every other project he's gotta cut deep. Tbh sometimes you gotta dumb that s*** down make that s*** palatable. It's 2023 niggas ain't listening to social justice music. Killer Mike would be hot if that's the case. Kendrick said it himself
