I actually disagree with her on this point, the whole movie is in the style of a musical telenovela which if anyone has seen telenovelas they know theyre meant to be over the top and ridiculous plot wise. which is why its not an accurate depiction of trans or mexican people

No one is asking for a "realistic" or even positive depiction. People were initially mad that they didn't acknowledge any of the victims whose story they are claiming to tell. And now Zoe's statement basically confirms that they just wanted the cartels as a prop
