That movie is underrated man, in an ideal world that gets nominations for script and Joaquin, easy
definitely top 5 for what I've seen
should at least replace Don't Look Up for best picture and original screenplay, that movie was trash and C'mon C'mon did a much better job presenting its message
no C'mon C'mon gotta be the biggest snub
Didn’t know this existed I’m going to watch it today huge Joaquin fan starter trailer then stopped cause I’m in so thank you
These would be MY nominations:
Licorice Pizza
Pig
Red Rocket
The Power of The Dog
The French Dispatch
The Suicide Squad
Dune
Titane
The Green Knight
C’mon C’mon

It’ll make sense in a sec. Good call blazing it up, that’ll add to the tranquil vibe.
Nominees were kinda a snooze fest. Like west side story and coda are boring movies. King Richard is a classic substitute teacher movie and shouldn’t be nominated. I think Nicolas cage Simon Rex and Leonardo DiCaprio should of been nominated for best actor, they all got robbed. I still need to see drive my car tomorrow, but for now my favorite for the sweep is power of the dog. Also French dispatch should of got some nominations too.
The Power of the Dog and Don't Look Up led to so many snubs smh
how does TPOTD have better production design than The French Dispatch, s*** was filmed on a farm they just gotta put some horses and hay on set and call it a day
and don't even get me started on Don't Look Up smh, Netflix gotta be stopped
film section should have its own awards, they'd be much better
lol
That's what both movies get for being nostalgia bait

I’m so f***ing sick of substitute teacher movies. If I watch another one I’ll puke. I almost put it on cause it’s on HBO Max and Will Smith might win but ya know what, I should just manage my time better.

I forgot Pig came out last year
That was a fantastic movie
Still gotta watch West Side and Belfast before I can decide on best picture but so far my personal pick is Coda. Idk if it’s popular enough to win tho

It’s like I said in the king Richard thread it basically in the genre of movies like radio remember the Titans miracle and the blind side. I’m not down to watch movies like that

French Dispatch to me is a perfect representation of high art melding with entertainment value to make something thoroughly watchable. Every Wes Anderson movie is. If we wanna speak to a new generation of film makers, it needs to be there. Not Belfast.
