Oppenheimer had no competition from a pure objective angle.

Lily arguably should've been nominated for supporting

think we jus disagree then i guess, i still enjoyed emma stone perfomrnace jus think lilys role is a tier above it, and also a somewhat more challenging role to play.

    facts

It's a miraculous movie just in terms of how radical and innovative a film it is. It genuinely puts hollywoods filmmakers to shame.

Lily did great and I thought she would win. She's also not in a lot of the movie. The movie was rewritten to put their relationship front and center, but it leans a lot more DiCaprio. They could've told the story from the family's perspective if you wanted more.

Here's an Osage person saying that:

Emma Stone is a producer on Poor Things. Its her vehicle. That's a lead.

i cant even call it category confusion cause she was billed alongside Leo and De Niro as a lead of the movie... if not her, who U think was leading.. Leo?

in a way carries the movie for me.

  • Mar 11, 2024

Emma Stone absolutely deserved it. I wish it won Best Picture as well. The other movies weren't on it's level.

  • Mar 11, 2024

They did a good job with the winners except Best Picture and Score (which is Poor Things). The score of Poor Things is insane.

If you want her to be the lead then have the movie follow her journey to DC or w/e. That's her courageous feat and it happens off screen. We get a single two minute scene where she talks to the president.

Great performance. Important character. The film itself sets her aside.

Just because people don’t like it the same way everyone else likes doesn’t mean people are pretentious for not liking it lol

Quite the opposite imo. Dude quoted me talking about nuance but the only nuance was in rdj’s performance. Oppenheimer wasn’t this hugely complex nuanced character in the film. Pretty standard story of a dedicated science dude who was a s*** husband.
