gotta know which u think r worse

I'm a day one forever EEAAO hater and that will never change. That movie is my Emilia Perez.

CODA was inoffensive but nothing about it was BP worthy.

Even Nomadland. I liked it quite a bit, big fan of Chloe Zhao, but it benefited from being released in a weak COVID year, and still wasn't the best of the nominees. Minari was better, Sound of Metal was better, The Father was in a different stratosphere.

As much as people may dislike EP, the latter two movies mentioned have made no impact, left no imprint on anything. (Green Book fits in this too, which won BP in 2019.) I don't think that's going to happen with EP, I don't think it's going to be easily forgotten. Positive or negative, it leaves a strong impression on people. Maybe it won't be remembered for the good or right reasons but as far as I'm concerned that's still preferable to vanishing into thin air and being almost entirely forgotten in the collective consciousness of both the general public, and appreciators of cinema.

I can't really bother to be angry about the prospect of EP winning when the decade so far has already been a s*** show.

I did not know only 7 horror films in Oscar history have been nominated for Best Picture.

I also did not know Jaws was a horror film.

god ur right actually it's been a f***ing heinous decade jesus. blocked it from my memory. yea coda is mushy nothingness and eeaao is barely a step up from an mcu movie. was shocked by them both too. it's all been watchable at the very least tho. even if sorely undeserved.

but emilia perez is different man. evil movie. very transphobic and kinda racist, but most importantly a genuinely incompetent film. and it was one nom off being tied for the most oscar nominated film in history ... i want to see it burn.

oppenheimer was also long asl and Emilia getting 13 noms means they definitely liked it. I wouldnt mind Anora winning tho

i hadn't until i had to watch it for uni semi-recently tbf. wasn't excited either but like yeah. there's a reason it's one of the most iconic movies ever.

  • that garbage movie Emilia Perez got 13 nominations?

welcome back crash (2004) we missed you

  • madison beer guy

I didn't love Emilia Perez but I would still contend it wouldn't even be the worst BP winner of the 2020's let alone all-time. Maybe not even second worst of the 20's.

Don’t tell me you’re about to say Everything Everywhere is worse

    Y’all do too much

I hope the Bob Dylan biopic loses everything cause a certain biopic from a few years ago, which was much more fun and ambitious and that also happens to be one of my favorite movies, didn't win anything so...
