I hope the Bob Dylan biopic loses everything cause a certain biopic from a few years ago, which was much more fun and ambitious and that also happens to be one of my favorite movies, didn't win anything so...
better man? i agree

timmy the young goat in two best picture nominees
his performance in Dune was better if we bein real
It’s interesting how Emilia Perez didn’t seem to resonate strongly with either the LGBTQ community or the Mexican community, yet it managed to garner so many noms, despite being a story that supposedly aims to represent those very groups.

it resonated with the film community

the academy is run by a bunch of tasteless zionists
its literally the worst hollywood white ppl you could ever meet in your life who run the whole show. this is why I've never cared or been shocked by the crap they platform.
I wont even go on another rant about emilia perez its not worrh it tht stupid ass fcking movie something is going on behind the scenes that has them hyping tht s*** up its more of an insult to the trans community then it is a net positive
I'm a day one forever EEAAO hater and that will never change. That movie is my Emilia Perez.
CODA was inoffensive but nothing about it was BP worthy.
Even Nomadland. I liked it quite a bit, big fan of Chloe Zhao, but it benefited from being released in a weak COVID year, and still wasn't the best of the nominees. Minari was better, Sound of Metal was better, The Father was in a different stratosphere.
As much as people may dislike EP, the latter two movies mentioned have made no impact, left no imprint on anything. (Green Book fits in this too, which won BP in 2019.) I don't think that's going to happen with EP, I don't think it's going to be easily forgotten. Positive or negative, it leaves a strong impression on people. Maybe it won't be remembered for the good or right reasons but as far as I'm concerned that's still preferable to vanishing into thin air and being almost entirely forgotten in the collective consciousness of both the general public, and appreciators of cinema.
I can't really bother to be angry about the prospect of EP winning when the decade so far has already been a s*** show.
Coda is gonna be viewed as the odd duck winner for a long long time, but at least it had a genuine pulse as opposed to that stank Benedict rancher flick & the rest of the mid from that year

oppy is basically the only recent BP that wasn’t immediately cast into the ether after the awards cycle
