you couldn't go outside without seeing pablo merch or yezzys in 2016
Okay yall are helping me jog my memory.
Nice change of pace seeing people hype it back up. I'm so used to people calling it yes second worst album
i didn't attack his hit making potential because his great on up lifting artist up
He’s good at matching the energy of an artist/song for sure
Its too early for Astroworld no? How we giving out classics 2 yrs later
And TLOP a good album but def not a classic
Astro was low key an instant classic even if I might not rank it top 3 Travis

usually people consider tlop on here quite highly
most people only hate Ye and JIK
Jay Z is the undoubted #1 There is no debating this in my mind. We are talking longevity, talent, classic albums (Blueprint, Black Album, Reasonable Doubt and imo American Gangster) along with atleast 5 good-great albums.
Kanye has to be 2. Everything from College Dropout to TLOP in my mind is a flawless to incredible piece of work. Has aged extremely well and is distinct in sound.
I put Drake at 3
You could make arguments to put artists like Nas, Lil Wayne, other legends due to preference and that's fine. To me Drake is Lebron, longest peak and all the #'s but hasn't put out a totally cohesive project since NWTS imo. Doesn't mean the releases are bad but not reflective of how good he is.
I personally have Jay, Ye, Drake, Lil Wayne and Lupe as my top 5

I love ye tbh feels so real even if it was ghost written. Lyrics really connected w me
Jik.... I tried hard to like but could not

oh yeah he can co opt any sound he wants and can do it pretty well

I used the word mainstream classics, Astroworld and TLOP were the most impactful/significant albums of their respective years

Def know it's hated but it just hits the right vibe for me sometimes. There was a point where I ranked it over ksg lmao
2016 had so many cultural moments
Views
TLOP
Blonde
last tribe record
i can see why people consider it as the best year in 2010s
If I’m just trying to be objective and rank on popularity, impact, influence, etc he’s probably one of the goats. For my own personal preference he’s probably not top 50. Just don’t really like him much other than background music at a party.

How do you gage impact ?
Bc if you putting TLOP on there then you got VIEWS too or even Scorpion
When it comes to the 5 elements of hip hop I haven’t seen much out of him in the way of b-boying, graffiti, or DJing so it’s hard for me to put him more than top 50
Overall he about top 15 tho

good points, great list also

Scorpion and views can have the argument made that the singles outweigh the garbage due to charts and general popularity, and pop culture effects
I despise views (2/10) and scorpion is super meh (4/10) but the argument can be made
I also only see tlop comparisons with views due to rollout / hype and maybe the singles run. Not scorpion
As a hiphop artist/artist in general he will go down as top 10 impactful and influential. Im saying this and im not a Stan.
