    It's because he doesn't own all his publishing. If he was like Calvin Harris or Tyler he'd own more

    But after everyone like Cyhi, and then all the samples and other producers come into it he ends up owning a third

    If he owned the whole publishing the figure would probably be three times that. He'll own more of the early albums though. Being a sole writer on most of their stuff is probably how some of those old artists were getting into the 400m range

    U should only sells these as a legacy act where the value of the catalog is only likely to diminish overall with more time.

    Ye is an active artist with likely new material coming out in the future. The positive perception of his brand is also volatile. There's no reason his catalog is potentially not more valuable in the future. He shouldn't sell

    Either that or he's scared his assets are going to lose tremendous value soon n he needs the money

    In some ways it's a good time to sell while these firms are willing to pay so much

    I think Future's just went for around 65m or something like that, so some current artists are selling

    I knew it was odd to hear Ye selling anything related to his music when his stance the whole time has been wanting to own everything he's done.
