For context, been in an LDR with this girl for well over a year and we've been visiting each other throughout. I'm 22.

Broke it to my parents a few months ago, and they took issue with us staying with each other (because of the implication & danger of pre-marital sex).

They're Indian parents who are relatively "Americanized", but clearly still hold onto some values from prior generations.

My mom can't deny me agency like I'm still a kid, which is frustrating for her.

In their eyes, staying with a girl for that long at my young age is "not right", even though it's only because we don't see each other often and it would be stupid to pay for a hotel room when she has an apartment.

It's the middle of summer, I haven't found a clinical job for my gap year yet, and I was planning on studying MCAT material while I was there (so it wouldn't be wholly unproductive).

I just said: "I'm not asking you, I'm telling you, that I'm gonna book the tickets today before they get more expensive," and she keeps repeating how it's not right.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
