    My only problem with it

Lockjaw's conclusion. The scene of him walking down the road all fked up would have been the perfect closure, but that whole scene at the C\*\*\*building felt like WB obligued PTA to put a "satisfying villain death" resolution that felt so unlike PTA and especially anti-Pynchon

I think it worked. Made sense that the white people killed him in the end. His excitement over that cold ass office was perfect

I know it's f\*\*\* Lockjaw but that scene did seem weirdly cruel

Good reminder that it’s cutthroat there too tho

So f\*\*\*ing good. Benecio just completely calm, doing real s\*\*\*, putting it all in perspective. Those scenes with the immigrants really moved me man

I love the scene where he goes to the door with flowers, knocks firmly on the door, and then gets a f\*\*\*ing battering ram to smash the door in Like, that was his whole character in a scene

I thought about that too. Maybe it’s that everyone’s more individualistic now?

Nah even the old heads did it. The daughter’s friends did it as well. One thing of note is that families were on the line and innocent people were being threatened. Definitely a different dynamic from Teyana’s character who was ratting to beat the clink. Maybe it’s a juxtaposition. I don’t think we saw anyone in a cell who didn’t fold (counting the daughters friends as an ensemble forming one character)

I haven't read the novel but from what I've heard that's how Pynchon critiques leftist movements. Everybody folds under pressure.

    Absolutely feels like a critique

Bob lecturing teachers about Teddy Roosevelt and nostalgically watching the Battle of Algiers and complaining about the movement’s proclivities that were HIS fault for forgetting all while he just keeps failing feels like a very cathartic middle finger to the old jaded leftists who rag on Gen Z
