I love PTA but this s*** just looking too white for me. I’m curious to be wrong but coming of age movies are tough if you just can’t relate and the trailer was giving me the vibe I wouldn’t be able to get on board. I love every PTA so I’m happy to be wrong.

Hey I'm a Joker apologist, Lawrence Sher's cinematography is some of the best-looking digital ever, Joaquin's good for sure but it's definitely not anywhere near his best performance IMO, the story is pretty dumb and the talk show scene is truly, truly abysmal, but it looks so good I could watch it with the sound off and have a good time, Sher really managed to make digital look as good as film and take advantage of its low-light capabilties while he was at it, it may be the Hangover guy doing Scorsese cosplay but Sher makes it very watchable IMO

We're getting so off-topic but I also highkey agree about Baby Driver, absolutely nothing movie, cannot understand the praise for it, I like some of Wright's work but that movie feels entirely like a cutscene in a video game where you've been ignoring the plot the whole time, you just want to press the skip button, paper-thin writing, unmemorable action sequences, Mr. Charisma himself, Ansel Elgort at the forefront, impossible to imagine the aggressive stylist behind Scott Pilgrim was behind such bland garbage

Better not look at my Joker review then this been my avi since 2012 and even I couldn't let JP carry that s*** for me. I won't disagree about the aesthetic at all though

That movie had a lot of potential that just did not materialize.
Reminds me of Jojo Rabbit.
Jojo Rabbit was a couple of good jokes strung together by the most boring melodrama.
Whenever it tried to get serious, which was often, I just stopped caring.
Just thinking of crowd pleasers that were most definitely not it.
