U contrarian as f*** bruh
That’s the only Lynch movie I haven’t seen. He disowns it cause he didn’t get final cut.
It's not on purpose i swear
Eraserhead rounds out the top 3
The Return was way better than all of that put together though
This be me taking notes when @Elric namedrops old school movies I'm not totally familiar with
(Not talking about Lynch obv)

I'm a cruel man
Inherent Vice is a movie that I should love in theory but I find it's a bit too static and conservative in its cinematography for the material, UTSL for me felt like the right way to handle that kind of thing, although I respect it for translating the information overload feeling of a Pynchon novel onto the screen, I think with enough rewatches I could genuinely come around to it
Punch-Drunk Love has some indefinable quality that makes it just not click with me, but I really admire how much PTA builds stress and tension in some scenes, I'm also very alone in this but I don't really think Sandler's performance is all that, PSH is BLISTERING tho, man fully owns every role he's given, no matter how big or small

I'd say that exact same thing about The Master, Freddie Quell is one of the best performances ever IMO, probably the best performance in any PTA film, and I'm saying this as an absolute PSH stan
Like I said tho I feel like IV could click one day, I just need to get into its rhythm, I think I'm still watching it trying to make sense of the plot when I need to just vibe

You gave a real response to this man who didn't even bring up Master and said Joaquin peaked in IV and Joker
Like you said Freddie one of the most potent performances by anybody let alone JP
