Maybe it's less of a "grower" and more of a "depends where you're at in your life" type of thing considering how many people are loving it instantly

It’s bizarre that the movie about the romantic relationship between a 25 year old and a 15 year old kid is what’s stealing people’s hearts.
All his other movies are like tightly controlled machines. This has… jokes that don’t land. Characters that have little impact. It’s like a sketch of a great film.

Ya see, I liked the new Wes. I thought it was really funny. Less of an emotional underpinning behind it by nature of being short stories but as an ode to artists, featuring wonderfully wordy and poetic dialogue, I thought it was an absolute blast.
