Back in the day I was too young to see twbb so me and my partners snuck into it for a matinee then snuck into No Country right after. One of my fondest memories in the theaters.

Boogie Nights is on right now. Always gotta pop in for a bit when that’s playing.

Licorice Pizza is really good, but if anyone tells you it’s top tier PTA, that’s wild, man.

Yea man I was lucky cuz they were both in theaters to capitalize on oscar buzz. Those movies along with assasination of Jesse James which also dropped that year pretty much changed my life tbh. Great year for film.

I’ve been thinking about this, haven’t seen yet. Does in compare in any way to his past few? Or even boogie nights or punch drunk love? Just the idea of a PTA low stakes hang out movie doesn’t compute to me yet and won’t till I’m seeing it tbh

It’s a comedy, and a breezy one. It’s not going for big emotions.
There’s a lot more moving parts to all his other movies. This, to me, feels like the outlier, even though you can see his other work in its DNA.
I really don’t understand how anyone ranks this over anything but Hard Eight, but it’s PTA, so it’s a total vibe.

This made my heart feel so full. It made me so excited for life.

Thought TWBB was a boring piece of s*** on first watch. I rewatched like a week later and absolutely loved it and rewatched again 4 more times right after
