My coworker had a good point that right from the start of Red Rocket you knew Mikey is a piece of s*** whereas for the most part the romance is glorified and being praised by critics in LP

    Yup that’s prolly why.

I think people actually care about legalities too. Some people think Mikey from Red Rocket having (technically legal) s***with a 17 year old girl isn’t as bad as a 25 year old girl showing her b**** to and kissing a (minor) 15 year old. Not the way I weighed it morally but okay 🤷‍♂️

Even with it being technically legal I still found it disgusting in Red Rocket but it was 100% intentional there. Don’t think there’s any glorification in Mikey and Strawberry.
I definitely felt often during this that I was supposed to root and want them together in the end. They’re both bad to me, just for different reasons
Thought Red Rocket was great btw

This movie is disgusting and Paul Thomas Anderson should be ashamed of himself. Why make a movie about something that falls outside of accepted societal norms?

What's next, PTA, a movie about p*** stars? Cult leaders? Conmen?

    For shame.

    j/k 8.5/10

There’s another underage teenage love movie coming to Sundance
    “Palm Trees and Power lines”

  • Don’t think anyone will be talking about this movie in a few months.

There’s really nothing to discuss about this movie because barely anything happens in the movie besides racist guys joke & the age gap controversy

She does not spend the whole movie prior going after older toxic men. First guy she went after was Gary’s co-working actor Lance

Yeah this one might be different being it’s coming from a woman director. It might possibly be from experience

wish there was a word to describe the particular type of self- important, too-cool-for-school, white indie vibe this movie gives off..

the main character is one of the ugliest women i've ever seen. thank god they didn't do a s***scene.

Facts niggas still itt acting like this was movie of the year lmao

Change the directors name and niggas would be saying this s*** was mid cause it really was
