4K OLED monitor coming in Friday Curious to see how I'll like 32" since I've always been on 27". Worst case I can just return it and scoop up a 27" one since they are coming out in the next couple weeks.

This mini LED one has been pretty nice in terms of color, but the local dimming is awful so I haven't used it at all in the past two years. I genuinely don't understand people actually thinking it's good.

I'm on 27 right now too but plan on getting the G8 Odyssey 32" down the line, what monitor you get?

    MSI MAG321UP
    msi.com/Monitor/MAG-321UP-QD-OLED

Pretty sure it's one of the best value ones to get ($800). Don't need anything more than 4K 165hz, otherwise, probably would've went with the Asus ROG PG32UCDP (or the Odyssey). Those were a few hundred more so figured it's not really worth it to me.

In the past month or so, spent $600 on headphones, $500 on a Legion Go, xmas presents, had to get one of my dogs fixed which was like $550, so I'm cool with saving a bit of money lol.

Let me know how it is

I honestly just like the aeshetics of the Odyssey a lot, the price for that monitor is pretty absurd though and the fact that it has no USB-C bothers me too

my pc needs to be completly rebuilt at this point ugh

    need a new processor

which will need a new MB

    which will need new ram

then id want a new GPU

which would need a new power supply

When you got on the AM5 bandwagon on release 7700x gang

  • New Nvidia series actually looks reasonably priced (compared to the s***show the previous 2 gens were) and very impressive. But heavy on DLSS/ray-tracing so if you don't care for either the AMD line-up is probably a better deal

  • That RTX 5090 though!

    Yeah pack it up

The focus on native game optimization/performance is dead highkey

  • Probably going to sit on my 6900xt for quite awhile longer. Still plays everything i throw at it at high settings

  • Webfishing one of the hardest games I've played in a long time man. Bring the text chatroom feeling back

32" 4K OLED is the move. Just got the monitor an hour or so ago and it is NICE Still gotta mess around with some settings, but I am very impressed.

It is indeed... Especially if it's a QD-OLED one!

Damn that's good to know, I actually started looking alternatives for the G8 because its matte screen and other small reasons. Came across the Alienware AW3225QF and the MPG 321URX.

Unfortunately the Alienware one is curved and I'm not too into those. So MSI might be the way to go. I believe the one you got is actualy just the same monitor as the one above but with a lower refresh rate and tbh I don't actually need the refresh rate so you might have been cooking with this recommendation.

My current panel is an IPS so it will be my first time with OLED and I heard about OLED being pretty bad with burn in (head about issues with text clarity as well but it seems like QD-OLED fixes this issue). I do programming pretty much 8 hours a day so it's kinda concering but I also feel like this issue is over-exeggarated? If anything at least the monitor comes with 3 year burn-in warranty anyway

Yeah, overall it just seems like the MSI ones are the best option. A buddy of mine got the ASUS for free (charged it to one of his projects at work ), but I really don't need the extra hz. I'm sure it'd be nice, but I can live without it, especially for a few hundred cheaper.

I was also in the same position as you; had IPS panels and first time with an OLED monitor so I was worried about the burn in and text clarity, especially because the PPI on 27" 4K is incredibly good looking. I remember so many people complaining about the text clarity on OLED, but it really is a non-issue. Pretty much looks the same as my IPS monitor. I think you'll be good when it comes to work.

Also think burn-in is a bit over exaggerated. I just turned on most of the MSI OLED Care options and really just don't plan on using the monitor like an idiot lol. Like you said, MSI has the 3 year burn in policy, so no point in worrying too much over it.

32" is also super good for gaming at your desk. Definitely doesn't feel too large and it's a hell of a lot more immersive than a 27" (very surprised about that tbh).

I will say though, it does make my IPS look like s*** now That IPS glow is more noticeable than ever.
