Yeah, that's ideal. What size were you looking for? I tried the 42" C2 a few months back and the second I set it up, I just said "yeah, this is not happening" 27"-34" would be great for OLED, at least for me.
Figured the mini LED was a nice middle ground for just about everything. Not quite sure when it's gonna come in, but hopefully soon. Still gotta pick up my parts though. Fortunately there's no issues finding a 4090 for at or around MSRP, which was the thing I was worried about lol.
C2 was actually my original choice lol but I decided on 1440p ultrawide instead to try it out. It's been awesome but the lack of support in some games is a bit annoying. It's definitely gotten way better these past few years though
My desk has great depth so it won't be too close to my eyes at least. My real fear was incompatibility with Linux since it only uses HDMI and not DisplayPort
Mini LED is a great choice too
Got an LG C1. It's been really nice.
4k is not the end of the world but the crispness you see in games is unlike anything I've ever personally witnessed.
I've had it for about a year now.
I'd def go 4k in this day and age. Unless you need super high framerate. But getting 80-100 on a lot of games with 4k is more than enough for me.
Yeah, 4k won't be too big of a difference from my ultrawide resolution, but the OLED is def a game changer based on models I saw irl

I was also considering an UW since they seem really nice. Just wasn't sure about game compatibility (and less so playing my PS5, which is super rare, but I know it just like, doesn't work with consoles lol). I'll just stick with what I've done with dual monitors for the past decade
If you've got the desk depth, then I'm sure you'd be more than fine with a larger screen like the C2. My previous desk (and the height adjustable one I bought a month back ) are only like 24", so it would just not work for me at all.
But yeah, if Linux compatibility is an issue, then that's the thing you absolutely need to prioritize lol. Hopefully more reasonably sized OLED options come out soon. Though I do suppose there are a couple 1440p 240hz ones just coming out, which is nice. Realistically, I should wait a year or two, but I'm impatient and I think the mini LED will suit my needs more than fine.

It's amazing for productivity and immersion in some games. Just sucks for indies and videos since you get those annoying ass black bars lol
I'll probably upgrade my monitor whenever I need to upgrade my GPU down the line, and they'll probably have a better selection of OLED monitors. Hopefully AMD/NVidia/Intel will come out with something actually reasonable too
$13 for all these

This INNOCN mini LED monitor is crazy nice. Love the colors and the blacks are almost OLED level, which is more than enough for me. My only issue is that there's some pretty crazy IPS glow on the bottom right corner when I'm not gaming. Hoping I just get used to it or it just gets better over time because it is bugging the hell out of me.
Also can't really decide which AIB GPU to get. All the manufacturers seem to have awful customer service and that ones that have OK customer service tend to get some wild coil whine. Need EVGA back

I hate how stagnant monitor tech has been, IPS has that annoying glow and greyish blacks while VA panels have smearing and poor colors. wish OLED didn't cost so much

Yeah, it really is annoying to me that there's no objectively best choice lol. Always takes me a few weeks to decide what to get because everything has its pros and cons. I would've went OLED, but the C2 was just way too big for my desk so I returned it the next day.
I've never had issues with my other IPS displays, but this one in particular is pretty damn bright in the corners when on sites with a darker background. Then again, whenever I look on-level, directly at it, it's fine, so idk if it even really is IPS glow. I think I am gradually getting used to it, but my other 4K IPS monitor is more than fine, so I have no idea.
Besides that issue, I think this monitor/mini LED in particular probably is the jack of all trades (for me anyways).

Ended up purchasing all my new parts today. I have spent more money this week than I have in the past since I also bought a new car on Monday

Anyone played BOTW on both Switch and PC?
I have a copy of BOTW but never played it on the Switch, is BOTW on emulation stable enough that its actually better off emulating this on higher resolution than playing on the Switch?

Just use Cemu and play the Wii U version. It's effectively the same thing and doesn't have any issues from what I can remember. I would not play that s*** on Switch if you have the ability to emulate it lol.
My CPU fans in my new build keep turning off randomly for some reason, and I can't figure out why.

Fair enough, Switch stays the machine where I only use occasionally to play VNs

Could be related to BIOS? Check if theres an update or if some settings in there causes it

it runs perfect on pc

I just checked in there and didn't find anything that was off at first glance. After a reboot, they work fine. Seems like either one goes out, while the other stays up. Saw people mentioning swapping from PWM to DC, but I didn't see an option in BIOS, so I'll have to go back and double check.
The fans are currently sharing the CPU FAN slot with an adapter, but I should probably plug the second one into the CPU OPT slow to see if that fixes it or to help further diagnose the problem.
I do not want to have to RMA anything because dealing with these incredibly short and thick PSU cables when putting this s*** together was going to be the end of me, and I would rather not have to put myself through that again
why does my computer say scanning and repairing c drive every time i start it
still doing this
i followed some tutorial on how to fix it didn’t work so oh well
ill deal with it until something bad happens
