While i think wrongfully calling someone a pedo is disgusting this narrative doesnt really have much traction outside of a select few corners on the internet like KTT and stan Twitter

I see casual people bring it up on social media all the time

The fact that this even needs a thread is disgusting and anyone spreading this nonsense all over some Stan war needs to seek help.

I don't know why he hasn't sued people.

Leonardo DiCaprio had a sit down with Greta Thunberg to discuss climate issues (something he's very passionate about) and I think Vulture wrote a nasty headline suggesting he was going to try to groom her because he's used to dating women in their mid 20s and he threatened to sue them if they didn't take it down. In less than an hour, they fired the person who wrote the article, corrected the article and apologized. That's something Drake should have done years ago. You have to throw your weight around sometimes as a celeb so people know they can't write lies about you and get away with it.

    vulture.com/amp/2019/11/leonardo-dicaprio-shares-post-with-greta-thunberg.html

After they made their corrections, they added this to the article:

Portions of the original version of this post did not meet our editorial standards. It has been updated accordingly.

This dude really spent hours writing a thesis on Drake’s relationship with underage girls

Yes, because weirdos have no problem making up lies.

He definitely needs to start suing to make a point and make people shut up. I get that he doesn’t want to even pay these idiots any mind, but at a certain point taking the high road and not saying anything hurts you

He met Jorja when she was 19. As at when she appeared on More Life, I think they'd only met once (if at all).

I think the release party for More Life was the first time they properly met. If they had dated, it would have happened when she was 20 (around July-August 2017), but nothing ever happened. He spills his own tea on Jaded. That's the only woman I know he's showed interest in that was that young.

Save for Rihanna and his baby mama, everybody else has been older than him.

It sucks how media in general has turned into this “report it first” mentality. Who cares if it’s true, if it hurts anyone, etc just be the first to report. Social media has more of a presence than ever.. and as a society we suck at realizing it’s true power.

Yeah, I totally agree. If he had gotten on top of this back in 2018, it wouldn't still be coming up now.

One of my favorite cases of a publication f***ing with a celeb and losing was when a publication lied that Ronaldo went out drinking and clubbing and lost his mind. It's a known thing that he doesn't drink so he sued the publication. They ended up paying him millions in damages, so much so that they had to close shop because they had no money left after the case was settled

what the hell was that publication thinking? Either way, this is a perfect example of why drake should be doing the same thing. I understand he doesn't even want to give that stuff time or attention, but it’s gone a bridge too far at this point.

They changed the article QUICK lmao. Sent out a tweet apologizing and said they'd reached out to Leo to apologize directly. Sometimes, these publications will write nonsense about you to test what you'll let them get away with and if you don't speak up for yourself, they'll keep writing bullshit article that stupid people will keep believing.

It's very dangerous. How would you feel if there were several tweets with thousands of likes and retweets calling you a pedophile and a groomer?

If I’m not a pedophile then I wouldn’t care. It’s all a part of the celeb game. Easter egg hunting they gotta look for something

Explain to me how this has impacted Drake’s career if it’s so dangerous? What shows have been taken from him? What opportunities have been taken from him because of pedo allegations

These allegations are beyond unsubstantiated. Literally bait for RT’s and likes.

There are few worse accusations than being called a sexual predator/pedo man. And as mentioned above, it’s dangerous because while fans and even haters within the hip-hop community know the accusations are bullshit and perpetuated by haters, the posts go viral and then casual fans eat it up. I see people who are definitely not drake and probably not rap fans calling drake a groomer and s*** all the time.

The people saying it doesn't matter because he's such a massive artist, or because they think it's apparently just a few twitter stans...

This s***'s not just a few niche accounts any more. It's false narratives that have spread like crazy over the past two years.

Check any post about Drake from a large publication or page on social media and you're bound to find comments trying to joke about this s***.

There are TikTok and YouTube videos going viral each day that continue to spread false information or made up stories.

I've even seen people trying to push that his lyrics in Way 2 Sexy are "the section needs more TEENS in here, I like it crowded" instead of "the section needs more TINGS in here, I like it crowded"

The fact is... Repetition leads to the illusion of truth. "When people hear the same false information repeated again and again, they often come to believe it is true."
