Cole didnt have to prove himself as a lyricist on FHD and neither did drake with iyrrtl. Their styles arent similar at all outside the early cole years before he went full on conscious

Styles aren’t similar but I think they rap about similar issues. Not a picture perfect example but I think it’s closer than comparing Cole to Kendrick tbh. I get what you mean tho

FHD was definitely like the end of “Old Cole” similar time how NWTS was the end of “Old Drake.” Could be me being bias but I think both those albums their best works from an album standpoint. Regardless, I think at that point they diverged hard and became their own person rather than always tryna impress everyone else.
It felt like the tide shifted and they started to feel more comfortable being at the top. I think once you see joe people treat you once you made it and are that nigga, your attitude shifts a bit. They both talk about that s*** a lot and I think I’m starting to see that in my own life to some degree so it makes more sense looking at it now.

You are just shifting the definition because it's Kanye. Plenty of billionaires don't have their money in entirely liquid investments. It's not like it really matters for Kanye because he has the best shoe deal in the game so he is still getting paid even if he can't move Yeezy yet
