Start at gateway artists first to see how you like it.
For underground rap DOOM is always a safe choice. Then if you like that you can go through his discography and then branch to s*** like Blackstar/BTH and then even further like Deltron, Dr Octagon &Atmosphere etc
For rock, safest gateway bands are Radiohead and slightly more eclectic are MBV
Then probably go through the Beatles discography and whichever album you like you have a whole genre to discover.
Good luck
Its a pandemic.
Honestly tho. I got around to albums in 2020 that I had on my list for years, movies and shows too
also most rap is one and done these days so it’s gotten very very boring outside of very select artists
I bump Carly Rae Jepsen and Pusha T in the whip
I like songs that talk about white girl
play instruments. you gonna find that listening to one genre is like saying the same words / sentences over and over.
you gonna realize music a language fr, and it’s good to have a diverse vocabulary.

The last couple of years I find myself listening more to older music cross genres because the music that comes out today is garbage
I seriously couldn’t tell you who da baby or lil baby is if I heard it on the radio
by not being stuck inside a bubble and branching out.
with AM and Spotify, it's literally easy discovering new music.
