Even if it did, it wouldn’t be that much of a contradiction anyway. Muslims believe in Jesus Christ as a prophet and love and cherish him too. They just do not believe he ascended to heaven after being crucified as the son of God.

It’s just in the late stage capitalist west those lifestyles aren’t really present and/or attainable. they are very much (intended to be) lifestyles you lead in this life to improve your life materially
I feel like this is only the case in those regions and/or periods where church and state operate as one communal power. Is this part of what you mean by saying the lifestyles aren’t currently attainable? Bc if so then yes I would agree

Dec 9, 2020EinfinetFor the record, I grew up in a strongly religious Catholic environment- but now I’m more idealistic than spiritual (which I’m much closer to than being religious). I place some faith in there being ‘something’ soul-like that connects people to the universe, but don’t put much stock in there being any distinct deity that ‘created’ the universal. Though there is some possibility to me of a deity composed of the universal rather than distinct from it, which does correspond to some religions but I still couldn’t pick out one from the rest to follow
