Finally playing through P5R.
Payed about 50 hours of the original but dropped it midway through for some reason
That was a few years ago though so I figured I'd just start fresh. F***ing with the updated version so far.

Best JRPG of last gen imo.

make sure you reach rank 9 of the councillor arcana before nov 18th so that you unlock the third semester/additional royal content
not a spoiler, but just in case you wanna unlock the royal content on your own.

i'd kill to play 3, 4, and 5 for the first time again

Yeah that's what I've read. Got him at rank 5 now.
If I'm not mistaken isn't there a time skip in this game? I'm at July 7th rn

not required, but i would also recommend getting both the justice and faith arcana maxed since those two are new/more fleshed out than in p5.
and i guess there kinda is? though it's nothing significant.

For real, i’ve been looking for an experience like that again but no matter how many "clones" i play nothing comes close to my first playthrough of 3,4 and 5

the only things that have truly made me feel something close to the persona games have been kingdom hearts, but that precedes my love for persona lol, the house in fata morgana, and umineko. obv not the same gaming experience since they're VNs, but man, there's nothing quite like them
though something similar to persona, gameplay-wise, you might be interested in the caligula effect games (mainly 2?). obv they don't have the budget or polish as persona, but i've heard the second one is really great.

Haven’t tried the house in fata morgana and umineko, you recommend getting into them if i liked games like 13 Sentinels and 999?
I’ve tried playing some games similar to Persona like Trails of Cold Steel but idk why it doesn’t feel the same. They even have schools, mechanics similar to social links and time management but i feel like the magic is not there, and it’s hard to explain what makes Persona so special.

absolutely. though there's no gameplay at all in these, it's just text (with the exception of a couple choices in both games). best two stories i've ever read, bar none. when i say everything else doesn't compare to these two, i genuinely mean that
i think for the trails series, its biggest draw is the worldbuilding, since there's like a dozen games in the series that all connect with each other. realistically, don't think anything will match what you're really looking for besides persona 6, whenever that inevitably drops.

house in fata morgana is like 30~ hours for the base game, prologue, and epilogue. umineko is easily 100+ hours in its entirety, so i'd prob start with fata morgana since it's much shorter (when/if you go with umineko, def get the 07th mod or project umineko, since they both add more modern sprites and voice acting). forgot to mention, but both their soundtracks are phenomenal. with both being the best stories i've read, both of their OSTs are just as good.
need to get your thoughts on fata morgana as you're going it. i'm sure @Nute and @redtruth would appreciate em and back up my claims as well
