I canât believe there are people who still want Persona to leave high school, kinda shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the structure of the game.
No part of our lives can be more easily gamified than high school. Like, if you were gonna craft an RPG within some part of your life high school would be the easiest to translate.
Once you get into college you have no obligations anymore, nothing is âmandatoryâ, you donât have guardians who provide you with boundaries.
I donât know how youâd translate a college setting into a game and make it feel as well structured as previous entries.

Attend English 101 or skip class and get high with Ryuji

Is that even that prevalent in Japan? I feel like you never hear s*** about weed or any d**** there.
But imagine they set it in college and you can choose to just stay in bed.
Also, they donât really have assemblies, class trips, detention etc.
I just donât see them leaving high school as a setting.

If you get caught with d**** in Japan, you're basically f***ed. One of the voice actors in Yakuza 4 and another in Judgment got replaced due to d*** charges (iirc Judgment was also delayed due to this). They take it very seriously from what I gather.
I also don't see them moving away from the high school setting (or age group, really). I think they originally wanted to do a "tour" type thing for P5, but they scrapped that idea, which then came back in P5S.

Wonder what theyâre gonna do in 6 to keep it fresh though.
Go full open world with it maybe? Take a page out of the Yakuza handbook and make activities into proper mini games?
I feel like in-game social media is gonna be a big component of it.

Yeah, it's really hard to say how it'll turn out imo. Wonder how much more they can do now since P5 was originally released on the PS3, so I would imagine they were pretty limited in what they could do (compared to now, at least).
