Not sure someone could ever make or break LV’s position in the culture but in terms of fashion it’s been nearly 15 years since pharrell has done anything actually fresh or interesting imo, big moment
That being said post Virgil there isn’t a menswear designer that could hold a candle to his weight like it or not

His first collection was the best fusion of streetwear and traditional high fashion I’ve seen yet

Went with the safe choice and he will be able to use his celebrity to get alot of s*** done. He had a pregnant Rihanna as the face of the campaign and its a menswear collection that is the type of press they die for.

Virgil was a trained designer, Pharrell isn’t. I get what you’re saying, Virgil was famous, but it wasn’t his fame that made his pieces standout it was his training which Pharrell lacks. He could surprise us tho
I see this as the same way voice actors are set up for big movies. Celebrities get paid first for their name and general talent but not specifically for their voice acting

I dont believe Virgil had a background in fashion or art in any official capacity when it comes to his education. He actually had to combat this same type of thinking with a lot of his peers looking at him as '' not a real designer''.
