Guys I’m seriously addicted to my phone. Idk how I’ve made it through college so far. In every single class instead of paying attention I’ve been on my phone or laptop on reddit, and now Ktt. I can’t watch an episode or a movie without checking my phone every second and pausing. I don’t even pay attention to my girlfriend I’m just on my phone. I Can’t seem to enjoy anything anymore that isn’t on my phone. Bruh this really sucks I can’t just snap this addiction. Like it’s bad I can’t stand to be 5 minutes without my phone in class. I’m f***ing addicted to this thing, my screen time on iOS says I average 10 hours a day what the f***.
I graduate next semester how the f*** can I fix this. I feel like I have learned 0 skills and I’m f***ing googling my way through college. I’m afraid once I get into the real work force I’ll still be addicted to my phone and not get any work done and I’ll be fired smh. This s*** is bad

What I would do was just leave my phone in my dorm during classroom time (keep in mind this was 4-5 years ago) but still, that's a great way to start kicking the habit.
Another thing is just to power through and delete all the social media you have man. That's what I did as well.

It sucks cause I bring my laptop to class to take notes but in reality I just browse the internet i Need laptop for some of my IT classes too and I end up not doing s***. Whenever I do homework I can’t focus cause I browse the internet. I have to stop making excuses for my self and break the habit. But it’s so f***ing hard man my brain is now wired to this s***.
Although I used to think the same about video game’s and that s*** now I barely even play them (partly cause I can’t enjoy them anymore? Idfk I don’t have the attention span for long games anymore and maybe I blame my phone.)
And social media man I’m so f***ing addicted to them and I don’t even post on any besides Ktt and reddit. Don’t get me started on discord I’m addicted to that mad too.
As of right now it’s an endless cycle of self destruction I need to stop but it’s gotten to the point where I feel like I’m a crack addict and I can’t go 5 minutes without my fix.

My sleep schedule f***ed too cause I get in bed by 11 and I’m on my phone all night doing nothing refreshing everything hoping for something new

they don't work for everybody but i noticed a small improvement in focus when i was taking them
ultimately discipline will play a role though. you can start small if you need to, even doing something like playing a video game or watching a tv series that you enjoy requires a bit more focus and offers a more 'lasting' reward than just mindlessly scrolling through your phone nonstop.
if you want to be a bit more productive than that you can set goals, daily schedules, and basically plan s*** out to use your free time effectively.

Imma try to start tomorrow by not even bringing my phone to class. Will prob wanna kms and be bored the whole time but I gotta stop the habit somehow

desperate times call for desperate measures.
Good place to start is to charge your phone overnight in a different room so you save bed for only sleeping, and also not taking it with you when you go to the bathroom (I know you nasty f***s do this too)

well starting is the first step, it's good to plan beyond that though because you'll probably have free time that would be better spent in ways other than scrolling through social media

huh I wonder if I could jailbreak my iPhone to have that feature cause that sounds like it was somehow Pavlov my brain into not using it unless in private or emergencies
