Is The Wall the G.O.A.T. concept album?
idk been a long ass time since i played that album all the way through
Tommy, Ziggy Stardust & Sgt. Peppers up there too. You right.
sounds of the deaf, funeral & GKMC (yes its concept record) are better
plus the ones you listed
better
I like the Wall's concept more than Pet Sounds but of course Beach Boys>>>

it’s an absolute chore depressing listen, two cds really of roger awful singing never ending on either over the top production and screaming (that if it’s not for that brick in the wall disco beat) or crying like a b**** over slow ultra mellow over dramatic slow ass piano songs..
it killed the band creatively, it’s everything i don’t like about pf: when roger fired everyone, thot he’s the s*** and took himself super seriously, it’s just not fun for anyone in the band or anyone listening, it’s no wonder they never recovered from it artistically
sorry just being honest, i like some pf when everyone is involved and tried sounds and we’re having fun n humble just cool lads experimenting and making fun songs

division bell is iconic there’s no way around it
so much so that storm thorgerson stuck to that formula ever since really, not for the best, it got phoned in, but he been in a game for a minute by then tbh and his style is so recognizable anyway

I can understand this, btw I tried to watch that nostalgia critic video to see what you were talking about but holy s*** was it pretentious Couldn't make it past five minutes.
question do you think pink floyd is the best prog band of all time?
i reckon yeh, who else can fill the bill or be a competition?
i hate the band yes lol

oh yeh nah it’s as a chore as the album
what if it was meant to be as to reflect the album tho wow meta move
nah but yeh it’s funny you say pretentious bc it is but bc it’s also where the issue lies in pf (or usually prog bands) that’s why i love atom heart mother or meddle, you have one massive ambitious experimental track that is pure prog and then the rest are short simple more pop songs where they have fun, it’s all healthy and balanced out, nothing too serious or full of s***! just enough
I always forget they dropped SEVEN f***in albums in one decade and 4 of them were literally classics Quality + quantity

i read in the past that after WYWH the band was fatigued and ran out of the magic that made them famous and then started working on their solo records and then Roger just started taking over and started to self indulge himself and then he leaves then becomes then everything becomes too Gilmour-centric. Neither extreme is preferable because each indulged his worst tendencies when left in (relative) charge

i am not too sure i don't know too much about prog outside of PF and couple king crimson records.
