for example, cesar chavez of the UFW did not like mexican immigrants (and referred to them directly as "wetbacks") and worked with the Border Patrol to deport them because he saw them all as scabs instead of building inclusive bridges with them, but it was much too late

because the "latin american community" or "latinos" (as a race or ethnic group) is a made up label mostly used by US americans
