Two years later they give WMWTSO a 7/10 because it's not cool to hate Mac anymore.

A good baseline for how p4k reviews rap albums is the Gunna/Baby/Durk/Future collective. They've pretty much dropped the same albums for years and they get a 6 or a 7 every time. Not to hone in on Gunna but ds4ever was a weak ass album and it still got a 5.

If Twitter didn't dog pile Jack p4k would have given it a 6 and no one would have cared.

It wasn't cool to trash Mac anymore after making a great mixtape and an album with some of flylos best work of all time

Mac was already making good music before Blue Slide Park. K.I.D.S is some of his best work and came out right before it. Best Day Ever is good too. It's just that the wave was hating that type of music. BSP wasn't a classic or anything but it's not a dogshit 1/10 album. No one else gave it anywhere near that bad of a score

Read the review and their not wrong he is style over substance and doesn’t stick out enough that you could even parody him but album is still like a 6 to me atleast

I remember I was ready to dig into his catalog because people were gassing him up. I was expecting someone like Mac. Bruh this dude is so terrible lmao. He’s boring as f***. Sounds like some s*** people only listen to because other people are (if you get what I mean). Feels like his fan base would be middle school girls or some s***

Yeah Pitchfork literally put Mac into a deep depression and started his d*** use after he saw his album get annihilated, and I think they really picked up on that. Most artists would act like they don’t care, but it really showed Mac’s human side even more. Showed he actually cared about his artistry. That he was just a normal dude who wasn’t up his own ass and took the criticism to heart and decided to bust his ass to improve.

I’m willing to bet if they ever do a retrospective review on Faces, they’ll probably give it a score in the 9’s
