Like I get that Fiona Apple and Björk are talented, generational artists. But I just can't sit through any of their albums. S*** sounds like noise to me. A complete void of any connection.
u not rocking with Venus as a Boy??
Illmatic not even top 10? The Chronic? Trash list
they didn't include a single nas song in the top 90s track list
just checked they’re number 31
This tweet was about the top 250 song list they dropped yesterday

One of her more accessible songs I have to admit.
But if I want to listen to an angelic voice over soft instrumentals I much prefer Miss Janet Jackson carrying on the supremacy of her brother during the 90s
Heres the 2003 90s list for comparison. 10 white male artists in the top 10

Will oldham went from 9th best album of the 90s to not even making the top 150

They both make pretty accessible music and are hugely popular so thats a YP

Oh yeah ofc - think I was pretty clear it's a very subjective thing. Some music hits , some doesn't. I still recognized their talent.

That list was baffling man, Fantasy ft. OFB isn't a bad song but I wouldn't even say it was Mariah's best song that decade, let alone the #1 of all 90s songs

Its significant because it was basically the first smash hit pop song with a rap verse so very influential but beyond that i agree
This list just screams "Look we dont hate women we SWEAR!" to me lol...weird vibes
even if pitchfork were always pretentious and often dumb at least they had an identity
now they are just rolling stone 2.0

Yeah, I understand the significance of it, but I feel like P4k lately has pretty much exclusively been about the context of music rather than the content, like I don't believe objective criticism exists, but it's boring seeing every review try and figure out what an album means in the present climate these days
