Only really based pick was Exile in Guyville at #4. Now that's a great album.
ya know, i've never listened to it. maybe i'll do that today.
imagine making a best of the 90's list and leaving these off
Altars of Madness, De Mysteriis Dom Satanhas, Mental Funeral
Absurd
i do love seeing homogenic over post
i think homogenic or vespertine are regarded as her best for the most part. did that have Post over it in the past?

Debut needs more love tho
I'd put it in my all time top 50.
If they're going to push female songwriters and performers, they might as well praise an album with such powerful confidence and sexuality. It does everything Jagged Little Pill gets credit for a lot better IMO.
now that you mention it, it's so obvious Guyville and JLP are similar lmao. Liz and Alanis are also similar when it comes to the trajectory of their careers...they got that one album that overshadows their whole discog. it's a shame cuz i think Whip-Smart and the follow-up to JLP are actually pretty good

it's pretty good s*** tbh
Destiny’s Child's The Writing’s on the Wall (#45) over Mary's What's the 411 (#108)

i thought they didn't and i'm happy to see that change. vespertine is my fav tho

The first three Liz albums the Girly Sound stuff you can listen to on the Exile reissue are all 100% worthwhile. She just set the bar so high for herself that couldn't quite live up to it.

They did
On their old top 100 90s it was
21: Homogenic
20: Post
A top 100 list of all the 90s albums but they had two albums by an 1 artist right next to each other
Destiny’s Child's The Writing’s on the Wall (#45) over Mary's What's the 411 (#108)
DC is goated but that's a preview of every Beyoncé solo album being in the top 20 of every Pitchfork list from here on out

i love the Girly Sound tapes. i think there's like 2 songs missing on the streaming version cuz of songwriting credits, so i just listen to it on youtube

damn lmfao
no ITAOTS, no pavement in the top 10
well that’s because Neutral Milk Hotel is garbage. Glad they’re no longer pretending otherwise
