if we're trying to correct the misogynist rockist male chauvinist canon, Jagged Little Pill and Come On Over should be in the top five
no sorry I'm wrong being skeptical about the motivations of a publication owned by a huge media conglomerate is wrong
it must be hating women
imagine making a best of the 90's list and leaving these off
leaving off Pantera is the right decision
imma be honest this list isn't as bad as i thought it was gonna be. is the list pandering? yeah. did they underrate a lot of classics? yeah. but it wasn't as over the top as i thought it'd be
List blows like all Conde Nast P4k lists. No personality or identity, overrating inconsistent albums because they were commercially successful, the whole thing feels like it was put in a random order...
Of course they ranked Live Through This over Nevermind. I mean, of course they did. I like Live Through This more than Nevermind too, but of course they did that. It's emblematic of this whole era of P4k.
And they still had Loveless #1 for some reason, even though it's the kind of album they spent the rest of the list pretending didn't matter. There was barely any shoegaze on this list and the most influential shoegaze album was #1. Alright.
Only really based pick was Exile in Guyville at #4. Now that's a great album.

i love that album, but idk if i'd put it in the top 10 tbh...probably like top 50

yeah its not horrible, some s*** missing, some s*** too high, some s*** too low
But thats gonna be the case with literally any 100+ list!

honestly yeah man the 90s was just filled with classic after classic, so everybody's list will be different. i'm just glad we got 2 janet albums in the top 40, she deserves it

I'd put it in my all time top 50.
If they're going to push female songwriters and performers, they might as well praise an album with such powerful confidence and sexuality. It does everything Jagged Little Pill gets credit for a lot better IMO.
