Heard 37 of these. Not a bad list, though I still don't get what makes Renaissance AOTY outside of Beyoncé's name being on it. This year was a little light on comparable dance albums but 2020 alone had at least 3 better dance albums.
What are those 3 albums?
That Meg line really got everyone in their feelings
"protect black women" cant be just rhetoric for the moment
well made album with a large impact. the sequencing on it is prolly the best of the year
what does 'large impact' mean specifically?
and how do you judge best sequencing?
Tbh it made me realize I never really liked Beyonce
Was just culturally peer pressured into doing so tbh
she has some cool songs
i just didn't hear one on this album
I understand that, I'm just speaking for myself
Oh you said you didnt get it so i was explaining
I seriously don’t get the hype and reappraisal of the nu metal sound, that album was average but their ep from 2019 was really bad lol
I don’t think they even sound like nu-metal, it’s just noise rock so bad that it verges on parody.
word????
consequence.net/2022/12/top-50-albums-2022-list/5 only list to have taylor included so far as well they also rlly like pusha
What are those 3 albums?
Dua - Future Nostalgia
Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure (probably the dance album of the decade so far)
Roisin Murphy - Roisin Machine
DJ Sabrina - Charmed
Kylie's album from that year was really good too
Renaissance is great but great dance music comes out all the time, Bey is just the most mainstream example of it being done well right now so she gets all the plaudits from the mainstream press
someones furious drakes not on there
everyone who loves music should be this year tbh
everyone know what side i was on in the stan wars but they gotta give Drake credit for the last 2.
Vince didn’t make the list, but that mid ass Earl album did?
B****fork gonna b****fork I guess

So you’re talking about Bey being the most mainstream example right after listing Dua Lipa, who‘s had the most global single run of the decade so far?
Renaissance entire approach to dance music was different compared to other recent releases with her celebrating the pioneers of ballroom, black queer culture. How is that mainstream again?
I don’t think they even sound like nu-metal, it’s just noise rock so bad that it verges on parody.
Oh, it’s not nu metal but it is a cited influence. Def noise rock, but not the kind i’m interested in lol
That Earl album is borderline unlistenable to me.
the past 3 earl albums have been unlistenable for me
