End of Transmission
Did this bring the first week sales wars?
Was that the start?
Sales were discussed before that, but more than that it signified the "death" of Gangsta Rap
808's was pivitol as well

I literally explained I was not talking about your generation

I said Wayne made lean cool 2 ppl my age
End of Transmission
and that goes for hiphop, and bootlegging culture, and mixtape culture, and real house music and some aspects of internet piracy.
you real as hell for this.
so many people got the backbone to hiphop that day for free like it was fl studio or some s***
Back 2 Back was such a bad example of responding fast cause Charged Up wasn't even worth responding too but the former song popped so hard everybody ran with the narrative
niggas taking 2 me about Paul Wall
“2005 bro I was there” f*** up then get back 2 the cubicle

Idk if this is to me cuz u mixing like 2-3 diff people stances
But I’m just saying the Houston wave was much bigger than some niche s***. I wasn’t old enough to see what Screw had outside of Houston but as far as Mike jones, Paul wall, etc
if you’re reaching elementary schoolers who are seeing you on tv you’re not niche
And if you’re that significantly younger than us, Wayne would not be the name you throw out as popularizing lean lol…stop it lol

Dam. I always forget about charged up
But Yea u right maybe I coulda used a better example.
very simple answer that you cannot argue.
the 1977 NY blackout. look it up if you don't know. i'm convinced hiphop wouldn't even exist in today's form if it wasn't for that blackout
Thanks for dropping something interesting I can look into
What are some Pivotal moments in Hip-Hop that changed the Standards of how things are done.
For example: If you was beefing with somebody and they dissed you on a record.
Back then you could take as much time as you wanted replying to a diss record.
But when Drake Dropped Back To Back. S*** changed.
The new standard became you had to drop as fast as possible or you would be seen as the loser. iirc
!https://youtu.be/XHYG2crLab4Another Example is illmatic.
I could be wrong but.
Before illmatic the norm for alot of albums was
One Producer and then the artists did their thing.
But with illmatic Nas had alot of Producers that would later all become household names.
Although there were alot of different producers the cohesiveness of the album stayed.
And to this day illmatic is still seen as the Definitive Rap Album.
Ironically now we see Nas with just Hit Boy now and hes having alot of success off of that old formula.
But What are some other moments in Hip Hop that changed how artists go about things.
Inspired by @giorno_giovanna
That standard came from the radio era. The Roc, G-Unit Nas and the LOX used to run to the radio the same night to drop a diss

I didn't know this
I need to brush up on my Hip Hop history more
