It was on PlayStation’s top 10 selling list for the last 5 years. Think it was simply just MLB wanting to expand the audience to compete with FIFA/2K/Madden.

Its not in the top 32 popular (sold) of all time PS4 titles & i just looked up a list of 2018 best sellers for ps4 & it was not in there.

Something like Killzone Shadow Fall is on the all time list for example, with only 2mill sold (and not a well received game) total as number #23.
It is nowhere near as popping or cared about like the other sports games. A sports game being bellw 2mill is pretty bad. Its the reason EA axe'd fight night sadly, because overall it wasnt that poppin & too niche compared to ither sports, but Baseball should be bigger than boxing.

If MLB is the reason, they took it away not because it was selling super well. The PS4 is the highest selling system by a lot of its gen, the xbox barely touches a quarter of it while the Switch is a couple paces behind.

True tho, that could be a reason, but imo unlikely. Imo its more about sells.

Yes

It doesn’t have huge peaks but it’s Sony’s most consistent video game franchise in terms of constant revenue per year because its annualized with a ton of micro transactions.

It’s why Sony will continue to develop the game despite it not being an exclusive anymore.
