Rappers that last at the top can do so because they aim to be influential. They aim to change the sound or the business in some way. These guys now are exclusively chasing f*** you money, and the most talented/tasteful of the bunch (like with any field) get propelled to discussions of running the game

This is an inherently rinse and repeat process. It does not supply to the level of demand that running the game requires

He was all over the Metro Boomin album too. He was a major part of 2 of the hottest albums from last year. You can say he got carried (I wouldn't disagree TBH), but a lot of rappers would kill to have the year he had.

just because he was on a big song or a hot album doesn't mean he is a hot artist by default

metro is a producer. so he can't really be a hottest rapper
