dynamax had better designs at least for older pokémon
megas were mostly mid when you look back at them
My favorite thing about Megas is that they gave a lot of Pokémon a chance to become viable in the competitive scene. Dynamax is cool but it’s too overpowered.

Did Dynamax tho? The best designs was probably Garbodor and Blastoise. All the rest was very bland like making Venusaur with just it's flower getting bigger or Hologram fire Charizard or just a fat Pikachu. Stretched out Meowth. Lapras just got bigger and they added a musical rainbow around it. Gigantamax forms were kind of mid. The starter forms were also kind of mid, for example the water starter. That was a dope design turning it into a sniper. The other two were kind of trash.

I love the fire starter. how can you hate on Raboot and Cinderace

I wasn't talking about their standard designs. I was talking about the Gigantamax forms. Honestly I like Raboot, Cinderace though, is my least favorite.

Alright I see. Man I like Raboot so much I bred a shiny one and I’m not evolving him lol. He’s not bad in a 6 Vs 6 either he can put in work.

ranking each region off pokémon designs
Kanto
Hoenn
Sinnoh
Johto
Alola
Galar
Kalos
Unova
hey i think you accidentally put Kanto at the top
ngl the champions tournament they’re doing in the anime looks kinda hard
I just wish they had a champion for every region and it would have been dope if they brought back the indigo league champion from season 1 and let Ash beat him. They could have even used the basis that Ash only didn't make the championship match was because Charizard refused to fight.
I also wish they made the champions tournament sort of like Diamond and Pearl anime league where Ash realized he needs to use ALL his Pokemon to win. I would find it hard to believe that Ash's overpowered Greninja couldn't beat Alain's overpower Mega Charizard, but Ash's pretty meh Gengar or Sir fetched can.
I'm hyped to see Ash vs Steven, but again I just wish Ash used his old Pokemon as every champion in the league is using their overpowered pokemon.
Meanwhile Ash has Pikachu, a very affectionate Dragonite, a Gengar with one of the worst win-lost ratios in the series, Sir'Fetched, Lucario, and Dracovish.
Like imagine Ash vs Steven, Ash would make a team of his Hoenn Pokemon to battle him. We would see the return of Sceptile, Swellow, Corphish, Glalie, and Torkoal. Would give his own team some redemption from being his second worst team next to his unova team. Could have Corphish evolve to become Crawdaunt and wreck Metagross.
So much wasted potential.
still funny to me that millennials begged for a pokémon snap sequel for a decade which made gen z’ers who weren’t even old enough at the time to have played it ask for one as well
then it comes out and absolutely no one gives a s***

3m copies isn’t bad tbh. lots of switch games only sell ~1m or less. like other Pokémon spin-offs mystery dungeon and pokken tournament which sold around 1.5m each
their other smaller series like the new 2d metroid and paper Mario sell about 3m as well
It has a diehard fan base but it’s not far reaching

Because that s*** is for a niche audience.

Pokemon snap only sold 2M. So it's right around the amount the other spin off games did.
Mystery Dungeon DX - 1.6
Pokken - 1.8
New Pokemon Snap - 2M
Spin off games don't sell as much. But those aren't bad for Pokemon spin off games.

new Pokémon snap is almost at 3m now, not bad for 1 year tbh
almost double what mystery dungeon made, and that games been out twice as long as new snap
It’s a success as far as their spin off games go

Where do you see that it's almost at 3? The last update was that it just crossed 2.4m in June.
Unfortunately a lot of the Megas suffered from a “more is more” philosophy and they just did too much. Just added spikes and f***ery that wasn’t needed
The best designs are sableye, Mawile, Gardevoir, Banette, rayquaza

2.4m is units sold outside Japan, total is close to 3m

Pokémon go probably plays a role in that I imagine
If you had to make a gen 1 dream team what would it be?
mine would probably be dragonite, gengar, lapras, scyther, charizard, pikachu
best megas >>
They should've kept megas and just did 2 or 3 per gen.
Gigantimaxing is dumb af
