Supposedly when things start really shifting, the Great Lakes region is going to be one of the best areas to live in. The lakes will keep the surrounding land cooler and it’s not in a hurricane area plus the winters will be less severe with the warmer temperatures.

They could probably build a damn somewhere along the St Lawrence River if sea levels rising can affect the lakes like that
