Not every society in history was a class society, but regardless I think you understand that my point of view is that we should move past class society.
And I'm not comparing upwards mobility my guy, just the fact that they're class systems and that they were eventually overthrown. Stop acting like I'm saying that day-to-day life in Western societies is comparable to feudalism or slavery. If you have to put words in my mouth that just means you don't have a good argument.
I disagree. Bread and circuses. As long as the plebs have what they need there will be no revolution

Yes feudalism and slavery were overthrown, as was capitalism temporarily in some parts of the world. I never made any predictions regarding any future revolutions. You're arguing with a strawman.

It's you guys who keep trying to talk abt future revolutions being unlikely when I never said anything about that

Really weird thread lol. Got fellas strawmanning, defending pac's and lobbyists, advocating for regime change and pretending upward mobility isn't a myth

I'm sure you're very aware of the fact that even the most fanatic supporters of open borders don't want unrestricted travel during a pandemic

Open borders will definitely be a thing of the past soon, especially with the EU on the verge of collapse

Communism would inherently require open borders so I’m not seeing why some people view the spread of this virus as a consequence of capitalism

Open borders was never a real thing in the modern world outside the u.s. most nations tend to be liberal but anti immigration

I wouldn’t say it’s a consequence of capitalism, simply a consequence of globalization and pandemics happened every time humanity tried mini globalization like the silk road in the middle age
However the fear of pandemics and the fact that the virus will keep going in some parts of the world for way longer than others will make it easier for politicians to close their borders
And this + political instability will probably force multinational companies to change their model

I meant more in an economic way, companies can pretty much go everywhere they want

This argument could maybe be made to some extent in the first world (see what is known as the “labor aristocracy “) and it’s a hotly debated one, but the trueness of whether or not the proletariat “has everything it needs” is at the very least almost certainly divided along racial lines and how certain populations are internally colonized
In the third world, the proletariat (nevermind many places which are still semi feudal so we have a whole nother class to take into account here) certainly does not have what it needs as they are violently exploited by imperialism and neo colonialism . This is evidenced by the ongoing Maoist revolutions in India and the Philippines

Not necessarily, at least not in the way “open boarders” are typically mischaracterized. Communists still firmly believe in oppressed nations rights to self determination

I agree entirely, great well-thought out response.

EU is not on the verge of collapse. People have clung to this belief for decades now in every crisis thats occured.
The Schengen has time and again proved extremly flexible and is unique in that position.
Undoubtedly, certain nations will have to take economic reform, but that comes as no surprise.

washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/05/07/germany-may-be-plunging-europe-into-constitutional-crisis
We’ll see where this decision goes but this added to serbia and italy saying f*** the EU we’ll ask china for help, germany saying it’s every man for himself and other european countries stealing masks and tests from eachother we’ll get out of this crisis more divided and weak than ever
