it's not like you and i are farming millions of cattle. we are clearly not responsible in the same way as companies that have fed the world enough to make us balloon our population size. don't listen to this man
at the same time though companies are simply meeting demand of their products. if everyone continues to eat meat, use copious amounts of plastic product, etc. then the companies have no incentive to stop what they're doing. it's a bad cycle
the problem is that we need immediate change and a massive overhaul of our current system (simply talking about energy, consumption, and the like), but since most of the population is too selfish or ignorant to realize that change needs to be made and since the people running these earth-melting companies are all but protected by the government and the rich people at the top, nothing is going to change

i think most families don't have a way out of that meat eating cycle tbh. and most families don't have plastic alternatives for most day to day products.
some of the burden is definitely on the population but we don't have leaders who guide us, incentivize us, or make it anywhere near easy enough for us to become better as a society

true, the selfish and ignorant part was probably harsh. i do disagree on the meat part, its a complex situation tho. regardless, the change isn't going to happen through the people, it has to be higher up.
