Nell Tiger Free gave it her best shot in The First Omen
Whats the point? Not saying the original is perfect but what could anyone add to it
It's a metaphor premised on the Berlin Wall. When and where can they set it to maintain that

I thought it was a metaphor premised on the Suga Free lyric anybody that bleeds for 5 days and won’t die plus develops an attitude, go to sleep, wake up & look at me dead in my eyes ain't for me player!

This is the closest thing Poland has to Suga Free
honestly it disgusts me that Possession is getting remade because todays A24 brand of horror (especially from hacks like Parker Finn) have completely misunderstood why that film worked so well. This is gonna be absolute dogshit.

The whole "elevated horror" approach from A24 is just a way to make critic bait by smokescreening the allure of the horror genre to instead make heavy handed trauma p*** that gets at social stigmas or issues. It's drama masquerading as horror. Possession in a way is to blame for this but the difference was that Possession was a horror film disguised as drama. But it is horror and it isn't pretending not to be to appear "deeper". Possession's themes of grief, trauma, and domestic hurdles are just as deep as what you'd find in any social theme in an A24 movie but it's delivered in a more pure genre way and yet still feels more real.
