Keep it G, Cudi has 2 good projects.
And one of them.is with Ye.
cudi having 2 good projects is a terrible take
If this came out on the past 2 years it wouldve been hailed a classic.
Label politics basically killed Sai's buzz before he had a chance to release it.
what happened in regards to label politics
I keep revisiting Testing, that's how much of a Rocky fan I am.
It just doesnt hold up under scrutiny.
S*** was weird for the sake of being weird.
Yea I get what you mean by this he sacrificed focus and precision for experimentation and an even more abstract approach than ALLA. But that was the beauty of ALLA, it captured the exact message Rocky wanted to deliver while remaining this feeling of being the cool dude. Rocky felt insecure on Testing. But tbh that’s what I love about it so damn much. Even on Tony Tone he sounds a little shaken up and it’s actually a humbling feeling hearing the guy you think is the coolest person in the world sound shook on a song he’s trynna sound hard on (pause) I can respect tf outta that and relate to it in a sense. I feel like Rocky is still trynna find himself as a musician because he’s just not satisfied with the black/white/purple tumblr aesthetic we all want him to be. He wants to be himself and I appreciate him doing that in front of us, opening himself up for criticism. Reminds me of Kanye in a really different way.
testing is great im def gonna run this back today
Where’s it rank for you in Rocky album?
I Decided by Big Sean, was one of my favorite projects that year but I barely heard anybody talking about it irl or online. To a lesser extent: I dont get the hate for DLDT, I feel like Toosie Slide tainted its public perception. Kanye's Ye album/ep is also underrated imo.
never listened to i decided, ill check it later. also havent listened to dldt so ill do that too.
i think ye is a cool project with some good ideas but it didnt feel fully fleshed out which is why a lot of people didnt like it. though i think that adds a certain quality to it, that record really represents that moment in time due to the seemingly rushed nature of the production and even the cover being taken on ye's phone the day of release

He was also most hated man in the planet when he dropped it I think that will forever be a stigma with that album
Where’s it rank for you in Rocky album?
it was my favourite after it dropped. ima run his discog back soon and see where it lands, though i imagine it'll still be top 2. my ranking was testing>alla>live love>long live
Bari - Neva Look Back (2019)
MSTRGLSS was cool but something bout this project hit different. I swear he’s starting to sound like carti or drain gang?

He got shelved because he wasnt making the kind of hits Atlantic wanted at the time.
I really wanna do a whole post on this album. The whole story is so convoluted, it deserves one.

His last single.
His last 3 projects have been dope tho hes on some Future s*** for the most part.
His After The Verdict tape has sprinkling of his old sound but I think hes just in a different place creatively.
Heard he was locked up recently but havent seen anything confirmed online.
This was actually a great album.
Dont think it was overlooked or underrated
