i have a stronger low end, a weaker area between the midrange and highs, and medium level midrange and high end
bass heavy and vocals are crispy
That's how I do it
Sometimes turning 250hz down to like - 5 helps the bass sound sharper while letting the higher ends come out more clear imo.
But as people have said, modern rap mixing is haphazard so some songs will prefer a leveled out 250hz band, or even raised a little. I've found, to me, the 250hz band can do a lot in a lot of songs. It can add noise and depth if you turn it up in some songs.
EQ settings are always gonna depend on your set up though. Phone audio chips tend to be pretty weak. well integrated software EQs help sometimes, but not on all imo.
If I notice the vocals get louder when the bass isn't playing (this is usually from the built in limiter in software EQs to prevent clipping) I fix that s*** ASAP cuz it bugs me.
I was listening in my car actually earlier and I realized it sounded perfect cuz it was kinda warm today so the woofers aren't so stiff
And my set up has deep, rumbling bass, and the vocals never sound like they duck
I got the subwoofer level turned down to - 5 on the deck cuz the subs are way too f***ing powerful. On my phone I use Viper4Android and only got the bass boost on the first notch with the cut off at around 100-120hz. I don't touch the visual EQ on my phone, but the EQ on my deck is similar to what Americana describes and is typically my go to for any decent set up. On bass heavy set ups, I may abstain from raising the lows at all
Yeah but then nobody can tell you exactly what eq to use unless they have the exact sound system
If you can hear each element of the song (I. E. None of the instruments are overpowering) equally and can still feel the bass and it sounds deep, you've done it correctly imo
Jailbreak your phone and use EQE
It was the only reason I was able to keep an iPhone for so long. The lack of advanced EQ settings on iOS is stupid for how nice the audio chip is cuz the output sounds like butt on stock no matter what stupid preset you use.
I'm Android all day, but used a 6s Plus for a little while. On Android, you can root and get a app called Viper4Android which is basically an advanced EQ app that does magic and let's you tweak the sound without distorting it, even more so than built in EQs.
For iPhones, there was no such thing until EQE.
I lowkey miss it tbh. I rolled the dice on this OnePlus 6 cuz it has a headphone jack... But it has disappointed me lowkey.
But that's why Viper4Android exists
If u got Apple. Go to the main music settings and change to “late night”
Makes every thing sound better
Imagine not listening to the music the way artist intended it to sound
give me more bass

I'm not equalizing the song. I'm using it to boost the strength of certain frequencies of the speakers I own.
ima post my EQ settings for sennheiser hd 650 when I get home, makes em sound 10x better

Thanks please do.
Literally impossible dude. There is no single setting for everything
For music: yes.
For a specific set of speakers: no.
There are many different EQ settings for speakers to get the best sound out of them.

you can for sure have a curve preference for most music
